William Rosewood
Determined, he went against the current and stayed true to his own vision.
Although he holds a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, William Rosewood does not look back fondly on his time at the academy. He rebelled against the narrow-minded ideas that were widely accepted there.
Determined, he went against the current and stayed true to his own vision.
He developed a strong interest in pushing the boundaries of what is possible. This manifested not only in painting, but also in his experiments with diverse materials. Rosewood developed a distinctive style that blends unconventional materials—such as blood—with large-scale visual concepts. His strength lies in combining art with entrepreneurial skills. He finds joy in collaborating with other artists, drawing on their expertise to create joint works.
In June 2015, Rosewood launched his first exhibition: The Richness of Nature We Destroy. This series focuses on the underestimated and forgotten power of nature. In these works, he combines death with 24-carat gold to symbolise the resurrection of nature’s richness.
Following his solo show Goldrush in Miami, Rosewood received considerable attention as a young artist doing what he loves most: telling his story through art. Later that year, he travelled across the UAE and created new series: PI = INFINITY, She Loves Me She Loves Me Not, and Verum Colores.
In the years that followed, Rosewood continued to build his reputation. He donated paintings to the Amsterdam Diner three times. In 2023, he and his brother completed a commissioned work for the Dutch House of Representatives, now on display in the central hall. In 2024, he organised a major solo exhibition in The Hague, once again showcasing his versatility and innovative approach to art.
At the beginning of 2025, Rosewood moved to the north of the Netherlands, where he is developing a new style. His new studio, surrounded by peace and nature, offers the space and serenity he hopes will lead to fresh insight.
