I was born in Versilia, a land of artists and marble. The marble extraction and processing in Versilia has catered for the greatest contemporary artists and even Michelangelo. My artistic works are the result of the history and industrial archaeology of marble quarries, and the absolute protagonist in my work is the air. The Air, in combination with a specific phase of marble extraction, gives life to creations that leave us a meaningful message. I like giving a voice to the Air, unpredictable and intuitive, letting it create what it wants. A marble extraction is an art form in its own right, it demands intuition and knowledge to extract marble worthy of art. Man has always been inspired to express his creativity, ideas and genius in front of a marble block, once taken from the mountain. Quarry Art enhances a specific phase when a block of marble detaches from the mountain. It's the moment when the communication begins, a moment when a heavy piece of rock starts a journey to find his voice. Quarry Art is carving out its original place in the contemporary art scene.
